The staffs are so gonna get it if i'm the one who encounter this..
I believe the others too..
We shall see tmr.

Worse experience i had with buffet places Odeon tower: HANABI

this article is type by my friend, which is describing our experience at Hanabi located at odeon tower. with some addition by me.

Expecting a fine dining experience at Hanabi Resturant located at Odeon Towers. We were quickly proven wrong. Not only were we greeted with bad services with half our orders missing most of the time, we were also under the constant scrutiny of a particular waitress who was giving us a stare down. When confronted by one of my acquaintances as we were about to leave the place, an unpleasant remark was made that particular waitress. While most of the staff there are decent, a small handful of them are just hooligans. It is not that I have anything against hooligans, as they too need a job, but my advice to them, please do not play hooligan at work. This makes me wonder, how much is the G.E.M.S campaign actually helping Singapore to improved its service to make worthwhile the 10% service charge we are actually forking out? Go the extra mile for better service? Food for thought for our local service sector in the FnB.

WARNING Wall of texts. But read on for the ((GREAT)) customer experience at Hanabi Odeon Tower.

Visited Hanabi japanese restaurant the north bridge outlet at Odeon tower on 22nd November 2008 at 1910hrs, the restaurant serve ala carte buffet for dinner, my friends and I had looked forward to a great night. My friend had called and booked a seats for 6 pax but 2 of my other friends decided to come along so upon reaching we requested to add on 2 more seats, the joker of a waiter told it in our face. "Oh. Fully book. U booking only 6 people. Impossible to do it. No" We were like taken aback by the IMPOSSIBLE but still as we don't really feel like going out to hunt again so we tahan. Need to like plead him at his mercy to help out.

Then after 4 minutes of internal-discussion the waitress say follow her. We did. Took us walk one round around the restaurant then came back to the seat near the entrance which was the one that we reserved. Look at it a while and say: "We add two chair for u all can?" We were like... Can't they just do that from the start? Never mind... No management skills fine.. We swallow it down.

The waiter gave us 4 menus and walked away. Ask for order also need to call 2 to 3 different service staff then got chance to order. Ok we also take it never mind because maybe they busy. No serving of water, hot tea etc.. Nothing.. Never mind. Maybe trying to let us buy the more expensive drinks they selling. We let it go..

For first round, we ordered 2 plates of Moriawase Sashimi(Mixed Combi) and some other dishes. Sashimi, consisted of Sake(salmon), Hamachi(yellow tail), Ika(squid), Tako(Octopus), Maguro(Tuna), and Tai(Sea Bream). All tasted quite fine. But the sea bream.. All 8 of us agreed on the fact that it has like some weird fishy smell that we never tasted before throughout the years we ate such sashimi. 8 Person can't be wrong. But since we already ate a piece each, serving wasn't really gigantic so everything else left some bits and pieces only, we just stacked the plates onto the left over since there wasn't any room for new plates.

(To add in, throughout the dinner, the following happened:1. Amount of orders they left out from our ordering was amazing. Have to call 3 times for the fried toufu then it came one miserable lukewarm piece.2. The waiteress like got nothing better to do can keep standing less that 3 meters away from us and stare at us after the following incident which will be explained below occured. We asked her if there's a problem she say no. Ask her if she can don't stare or stand a bit further away or something she say she no wrong what. Stand there only what. Then give the glare then walk off. Miss Wanying)

When we were about to stop eating, the manager [Mr Richard Ang] (we know because he was the only one wearing different.) came over and asked:

Manager: The sashimi got problem? because i see the few pieces of fish left and we will charge to the bill if you all don't finish it." (Proceeds to take the used plates stacked on top of the fish away and push the plate of sashimi to us)

Us: Ya. Actually there is. Your sea bream has a weird smell leh.. Thats why we left it.

Manager: Oh you should have told us. We Change for you. (5 pieces of sea bream left with lots of radish etc left only) if not we Charge you. Now what i will do is i bring to kitchen check and see got problem. (walks away)

(We know about the wastage charge. But jesus christ.. A few pieces of sashimi u want to kick up a fuss???)

Us: Ok.

(2mins later *he didn't even go into kitchen. Only went to the waiter's corner talk to the waiters. Eye Power.)

Manager: Oh we checked. Fish no problem. U must eat or we will charge.

(Remember the fact we already stacked the plates up on the fishes? He expects us to EAT.)

Us: What?? Did you even TRY?? Ok FINE. Now take it as we eat it all up. If any one of us here get an upset stomach or food poisoning. Do you bear the concequences?

Manager: Oh ya sure we will take responsibility. Our fish fresh come every morning one no problem. Cannot be just one plate of sashimi got problem what. We serve this to every customer all the same they no sick so no problem.

(Do all the fish meat come from one dumb fish may i ask???)(And to add on.. As an F&B manager you take your customers health and condition by LUCK AND CHANCE??? Kidding right??)

Us: We are not as confident as you MR. We are not finishing it. I hate to shoot this to the higher management but please can you get someone of higher authority to talk to us?

Manager: Ok sure i will call my BOSS of Hanabi to talk to you.

(Hearing that i LOL in my heart already. A few miserable fish. Call Hanabi boss??? LOL!)(5 MINS later)

Manager: Ok. Sorry Boss is not around. But i talked to him and he said this time he will complimentary waive off the wastage charges.

Us: What? Waive? U kidding? Never mind about it. I still want to talk to your boss. By phone or whatever i don't mind.

Manager: curt reply: Oh he not in town. *This sentence was not even put across to us facing us as he already started to walk off.*Us: Excuse me what's your name??

Manager: Oh. Richard. Richard Ang.Got so pissed. We just went to pay the bill. The staring waitress came around yet again. So this was when we asked for her name.

Waitress: Heh. Rolls eye "Wanying"

Us: Why you not happy with us? Roll eyes and scoff? U should observe your attitude when u approach your customers in this F&B Business before u even work.

Waitress: mutter so loudly all 8 of us could hear. Then don't come here eat lah! scoffs again and walked off.Like wtf eh? As we walked out she kept on pointing to us to her colleagues talking talking talking.

For people who like summaries instead of Wall of Texts here goes:

1. Incorrigible terrible customer service (Except for one malay waiter *didn't get his name. He was really too busy. Would really compliment him because he promptly clear our plates away and he always is the one who takes our orders even though he's always busy with other tables too.)

2. Terrible Service Breakdown follow thru

3. Terrible management skills

4. Rude waitressFor a price of $310.73 for 8 persons breaking down to $39 per pax. at north bridge road it is definitely not worth the price considering that the price for service charge is $26.40 and despite that the food was alright.

Once again Thank you. MR RICHARD ANG & MISS WANYING for such a WONDERFUL experience. Never had i dine with such a GREAT experience before.
